Then He Was Gone

Updated on December 3, 2015

He came to me

An angel at night

In the midst of summer

We talked for hours

Every night

Awakening senses

I didn't know I had

Whispering

Sweet healing words

That my body

Had longed

He was an angel

So gentle

Watching over me

Every morning

He came to me

Said things

That inspired me

I began to love him

So deeply

When the season changed

That is when

He disappeared

Leaving not even a trace

In the wind

It makes me wonder why he couldn't, wouldn't stay.

Much too sad, but then again, sadness defines us at times.

Yes, those angels in the night are special ...I call them dark angels.

      Lovely yet poignant.
