This Dream, It Seems....
The nags and nays have plotted
True to their desserts;
And hung their coats upon this hook,
My valiant dream of wandering;
And life. I never thought that such
A turn would come to pass. In time
I knew that I’d win out, and all
The dread and fear, of losing her,
Would disappear.
Then we would ably sail in
To port, and have our way
On starboard tack, and everyone
Would welcome back, the dream
And captain of her helm
Who found the secret.
Joy would rein the realm, and none
Could turn us from our course
In brilliant days or darkest nights;
Perfecting thoughts,
And weathering our plights;
I never dreamed nor dread, of losing
Her and all instead. So tally ho,
And off we go. This dream
Will not go gently to a berth
It seems.
