This Nights Sleep

This night brings many things
The stuff of sweetest dreams
Of bright sunlight and flowers
During our sleeping hours

With pictures blue and gold
Skies seem to explode
With all the colors of the Rainbow
And all things to you foretold

This night brings on many things
Messages from afar
And behind your minds eyes
Learning pictures given are

Pictures of family and friends
Some old and some new
Who at times wish they'd said
In dreams they say to you

This night brings on many things
And as you watch and listen
Your dreams they come alive
They sparkle and they glisten

Then you become the dream
And speak what's in your heart
You give to those you see
Within your dream impart

This night brings on many things
Things you'd wished you'd said
In dreams they are relayed
Even while you rest

And when you awake in mornings light
You now know what's to be done
How to plan your day
In dreams your plans begun

So take your dreams to heart
As they not only tell
What you need to hear
But what to say as well

Talking of writing down dreams, my Dad did that once when he woke from one in the middle of the night. When he woke up in the morning, he reached for his notebook to remind himself - it was all gobbledygook!! So I hope you always write them down in the morning!

One thing I learned is to write my dreams down when I can remember them. So much to learn about yourself and others. It can be quite amazing. Thanks and I am so glad you found meaning.

What a great idea! You're right, though, dreams often tell you something or remind you of something to do. I like the way, too, that we can see people we know and say things we'd like to say - I know it's just the mind working through things but your description is much better! Dreams do help us a lot; my Dad appeared just once in my dreams since he died - he gave me a big hug and took away much of my sorrow - the best dream I've ever had!
