This Thought

Updated on July 6, 2015

Miraculous wonders

in the midst of

silent waves,

She beckons.

She wants to love

past the consumption,

past the hatred,

past the iron hearts

we've created.

She pleads.

Feel her embrace,

Feel her calm,

Feel her gentle caresses,

Feel safe.

Born of water,

We kill her

with our ignorance

and our filth,

Yet she forgives

and patiently waits.

How much longer

must she suffer?

How much longer

must her fate be

determined by Greed?

She loves,

She cries,

She hurts,

She waits.

She is beautiful.
