Thoughts on Mothers
WHAT IS A WOMAN by. b. Malin
What is a Woman? She is somebody's Mother, or somebody's Lover, or maybe just somebody's Friend.
What is a Woman? She was once somebody's Little Girl, now grown up. She may be a person with a career, Young and Free. Or she may be Old and tucked away somewhere, with her memories.
What is a Woman? She maybe a Wife, a Miss, a Ms...She can have her choice of Titles. She can stand up for her Rights and challenge any Wrongs, Peacefully protesting her dislikes, as she protects her young.
What is a Woman? She is a person who wants to feel Wanted and Needed, no matter what her station in life is. She can Love and Protect and advocate Peace. Or she can pick up a gun, and fight in her country's time of need...and yet still cry for the wounded and dying that she sees. While silently praying to make it home.
What is a Woman? She is what makes "little boys" grow up to be Men...and want to Love her. She is Beauty in the eyes of the beholder. She can be Man's Strength, or his Weakness, even his Downfall. She is a person who gives her Love freely...and in some cases, does not get it in return.
What is a Woman? Not always a perfect soul....but get Her, to admit That!. She is You, she is Me, She is my Sister, and the older we get, My Best Friend.
What is a Woman? She was my mother, a "Free Spirit," who lived on this earth for 75 years....She had style, she had Wit, she had Charm....way before her Time, in so many ways. Never judging....and never expecting to be judged. But always knowing, somehow, someway, when she was needed, and like a Mother Bird in flight, she came. Now that was a Woman. No question about that! So I lift my glass high, to make a toast, her, and to all the women that connected us.
