Time Better Spent

Updated on July 17, 2016

Sharing Love

Life might look easy on the outside

Only to find out later

How complicated it can be

A simple day has only twenty four hours of play

We have to get some sleep

Studies show at least eight hours a day

Is recommended to keep your body well

Five hours is more practical

Because life is filled with so many choices

We get so busy

Time is limited

Pulling us this way and that way

Like your dogs favorite chew toy

Tossed across the room and then chewed over and over again

Food and water is our fuel

Without it we are broken beyond repair

Our job gives us our ability

Like a Swiss army with so many different functions

Making life beautiful as we explore all our options

Using our money to buy objects of our desire

Going places we have always dreamed

Paying our way for housing, utilities and all necessities as needed

The people in our life is what makes life important

From our family that we were born into

Friends and friendships we have established

Our health becomes our compass

Good health we can go any direction we choose

Bad health restricts us and turns our life into a living hell

Our mind has developed over time

Taking in all our experiences and emotions

Logging them as easy as a calculator functions

Doing all the math necessary

If we are smart we will make the right choices

Finding a world of endless possibilities at our fingertips

Bringing so many desires and dreams to fruition

If not we will pay for our mistakes

Both physically and mentally

Watch as we dive into the pool

Creating our own waves of happiness or destruction

Nellieanna I am blessed with good health and time my hands to do many things. Now I try to squish the both together like a ripe tomato and make tomato sauce. Adding other ingredients as I go. Trying to make life pop. Sometimes I snap, crackle and pop. Thank you so much.Have a great day.

Gypsy Rose Lee I believe wherever we are and whatever we are doing is where we are meant to be. So bring happiness in the things you are doing at this moment and when you write you will be more focused and have so many new great stories to share. Thank you for reading and caring.

MICHAEL, Your way of living positively is truly effective, both for you and others whose lives yours touches That is what one can do in this life, - and pretty much the extent of what one can 'do'. Most 'doing for themselves' is up to the others one touches with one's own positivity and enthusiasm. One's own 'doing' is almost all in one's own arena, where one can follow-up & make needed corrections, as well as setting a good example. Usually if one is attempting to help others, they look to see how well one is able to help oneself. If it's doing it well, it encourages people to look further to see what it is which propels one's own life. No reason it can't be well if one is taking care of one's own life in the ways that really matter - the spiritual and also the practical challenges which shine forth. And then one can reach out where it is welcomed.

Being able to live in the 'real' and face challenges is almost as important to one's influence as being able to dream past all that, being joyous & letting that joy splash over others! Visualizing or dreaming of the best helps the best to materialize, as we've agreed. Our beings take their cues from what we can 'see' as possible and then our entire beings work to help it happen.

Also accepting all that happens with a positive attitude, including the challenges, gives us vital fuel for proceeding. Those challenges happen for reasons, - to strengthen and to 'outfit' us to be good and strong people, helping both ourselves and those around us. Hugs and SHELLS! :)

Nellieanna Each week I examine the week before and do a little mental self check and say is this where I want to be. What can I improve on to make my life and other people I meet life's better. Then I fantasize on new and wild dreams. Then I do all I can to bring those dreams dancing, laughing and bubbling right before my eyes. Thank you for reading and caring.

I have been so busy lately that I don't remember when I had time to just lay back and do whatever I wanted. However right now I don't regret it because I really enjoy writing. Besides our weather is cool and rainy and more fall like than summerish so I spend time as usual by my PC.

That sizes it up nicely, Michael! We make our choices, and sometimes don't fully realize the sub-choices those set into motion. And then, there they are.

But, yes! Each day is like a clean slate right here where we can write the best of all our ideas and choices and then pursue them as earnestly as we are willing to do. Some of them are always connected to the past choices we've made, so they're more complicated by the 'baggage', but there are always new ones and ALWAYS choices of how we will meet each one from both past or brand-new. It's what LIFE is made of and it keeps us living.

The best news is the choice part. Our better choices improve it and keep the next choices more manageable. Most of all, they don't deliberately hurt anyone else. Sometimes, though, that is mostly up to them. We can make sure we don't allow or make others' choices to hurt us. We can care without having to control others or be controlled by them. We must be our own controllers.

But there can always be surprises and we have to rise to those occasions. When we realize that it's all good and healthy, though, our responses improve and things become more manageable. Besides, like you, we realize that it's mostly our attitudes that matter.

We can and will discover the better-working actions and directions, and learn to choose the ones with the most benefits, such as, as you say, the healthful choices to enable us to live more fully and happily, even to be able to choose to spend hard-earned money on happier things than on medicines and doctors. Good health choices are investments in LIFE. It benefits ourselves and those who love us. Even if it's prompted by having made less-good health choices up to now, it's always good to start making the good ones. One hears people say that good health choices cost more. But, no they just may involve making harder choices if one has grown used to the other kinds of things. But many of the simplest and most affordable choices are the very healthiest. It's a matter of self-honesty. And we all have some distance to go in that area of improvement!

Anyway, your theme of 'Time Better Spent" is so important. We're not just helpless beings tossed about on a sea of changelessness. We can change the most effective things, which are always those within ourselves, our own habits and choices, and our own control over our own health and well-being. When we are doing well, we're a better influence over others in our sphere of influence. If they must take care of us, less so. It's a personal responsibility. So sometimes we have to make hard choices.

Congratulations on another good one. It is sharing love to keep oneself in shape to help others around us.

I suppose you know how deep and meaningful your last line is. A great poem! If in London, then drop in at Poetry cafe. We will look after you quite well. Much Love this weekend, and don't rush. Here is a serious but short amusing poem by my Teacher that relates to your poetry:

My Supreme, my Supreme, my Supreme.

Do give me forty eight hours a day, to accomplish.

Everything that I wish to accomplish,

Every single day." _ Sri Chinmoy. Joy to You, O Dream!
