Time Slips Away

Updated on October 11, 2011

Funny how time slips away

Before you know the day

Has gone to sleep

Another day on the horizon

Approaches ever so swiftly

Languid days are no more

Time has its way of disappearing

When you need it most

Time to take care of the little

Things life has to offer

That brings joy

Runs away as if tomorrow

Has an expiration date

Time slips away

Trying to hold on to it is futile

It has its own mind

Set in its way never to change

All we can do is hope to

At least catch up

Wishful thinking

Dreaming of the day

When tomorrow is today

And today stays

Time slips away and away and away………

I need to describe a phenomenon that happened to myself and some friends, we were bush walkng in Australia and a couple of friends left the, group to wait in the car, we could not have been more than 5 mins away and we kept walking, at the time, I felt a strange sensatiin and we saw a snake, it appeared to be in slow motion, we kept walking and went to the car, when we arrived our friends askd what took us so long, we looked at our, watches and they were al 45 mins ahead, of time, still perplexes me to thius day, I hve since had many unexplainable occurences ???

Or how about when you are waiting for someone, and even a few minutes seems to last forever. Time is an excellant subject to write poetry about, as you've so clearly demonstrated here, thank you ek ellis, love your visuals in this piece too.
