Timeless Passion - A Poem
Background
A poem about undying passion that stays on for eons together. Even when bodies lie beneath their graves, the passion remains ignited within the souls, whose journeys continue within new bodies.
The Poem
A thousand years have gone by
There lay our graves so still
Mountains, rivers, and times change
Passing on the deathly chill
United at heart, divided at will
Death could yet take a chance
Beneath the soil the spark remains
Of our omnipresent stance
The hide wears away, and
Washed is the blood within
The stone rings a silent bell
Summons a rhyming din
The journey of the soul pertains
To yet another broken dream
Shattered above, connected below
Though pointless it may seem
A thousand years have gone by
Yet we smile, and keep holding on
To the passion we began before time
And pass it on to the newly born
