'Tis the little things

That I remember

From the times that we spent in sweet surrender

'Tis the minutiae

That makes me hunger

For you and the love that we shared together

The way that your lips curl when you smile

To paint them in words will take a while

The glint in your eyes that lit my days

The mischievous looks in your angel face.

The way that you hook your arm in mine

The way that you mess my hair, divine

The look in your face as you trim my nails

The tears that you shed when something fails

The obsessively neat and tidy rooms

Music you choose to chase the gloom

The toasts that you burn but make me eat

The screams of pleasure at tickled feet

The way that you hurt when I am mad

The hugs that I get when I am sad

The way that you curl up when you sleep

The simple gestures that reach so deep

You told me

I'll find another

To love and to care and to hold forever

Tell me sweet Will I ever

Forget the little things that I remember.
