Heartache: A Poem
To Break Apart
My polished heart was rhythming sweet
It desired none other then love's irregular beat
Was it truly longing to be broken?
Could it see of future words left unspoken?
How the loud silence quieted the beating
With a sigh it murmured a moment fleeting
Then it shattered in pieces quite cleanly
Though the parts won't hold together seamingly
Someday my heart will shimmer, someday it will shine
In the future I will give it away, then it will forever not be mine.
