To Smell The Roses
As I sat writing in a contemplative mood
From the long, glass pane the sun streamed through
I turn my head to deflect the painfully blinding rays
The thought that I should have covering installed
popped into my consciousness but only for a minute
To be replaced
For my eyes bore witness to the light gray smoke
as gently it brushed the water in various points
billowing outward and upwards
I would have missed the seagulls in flight
and the blue-gray birds I have yet to identify
I would have missed the willow
as it swayed in motion to the gentle breeze
And below the sunlit water as it glistened and ripples formed
Had I covered those long, glass panes
I would have missed the continuation of Life

The picture of the pup looks like my Daughters dog, I couldn't keep her physically unable to care for any pet's except maybe a goldfish.
