To the Broken Hearted: A Poem
It's like the smell of wilting flowers
The crumbling of tall towers
It's majestic, full of power
But it's not what I thought it would be
I was dreaming a dream I would never see
Broken doesn't begin to describe
My heart, my soul, and my life...
I can still feel the love you had for me
But it's more like a haunting, less like a dream
The truth is more of a reality then it seemed
The pain is still felt, my senses still keen
It's not what I thought it would be
I was dreaming a dream I would never see
Broken doesn't begin to describe
My heart, my soul, and my life...
But Jesus is still in control, He's right here waiting to make me whole,
You'll always be a part of my past, I know now it wasn't meant to last
It's not what I thought it would be
I was dreaming a dream I would never see
Once broken, once helpless, once shattered
But because of Him, it doesn't even matter
No, it doesn't even matter....
