Today Was Not An Ordinary Day

Updated on November 19, 2013

It Had Wings

It seemed like an hour ago I just woke up

Now the day is over and tossed into a pile

Soon to be just a slight thought

Then in time not even a memory

So here is what is left of my twenty four hour day

I feel so clean after a nice hot shower

My wife and I both dreamed the night before

She remembered hers as I forgot mine

I squeezed in a little love leaving no room for romance

For snacks I had half a sleeve of crackers and an apple

I bit my tongue and had a pimple under my nose to curse

Gassed up the car and off to work we went

My wife still has no voice and no time for t.v. for me

I typed a little on the computer with my cat charlette by my side

Work was quiet and everyone had something to talk about

I helped my cousin move and I got in a walk

My fire alarm is chirping and weather was in the 50's

To you these might seem like random items on a list

To me they represent all I did in one day before my time slipped away

DDE We each have so many things going on in our day. We don't see them because we are too close and are right in the middle of it all.Taking a different view point helps and gives us an alternate direction and a new point of reference. Joy56 Life continues to change us as a person and the people we meet help us grow inside and out.Thank you both for sharing my writings and taking the time to comment.
