Tonight....a Vampire Poem
Tonight I won’t let you in
I am going to be strong and ignore your call
No matter how I yearn for your touch on my skin
Into your darkness I won’t fall
Yet as the darkness fills the sky
Anticipation for you makes my heart beat
Emotions too hard to deny
As you arrive in my street
Locking the window tight
Backing away slowly as your voice fills my head
From your passionate chase there is no respite
My excitement mixing with dread
Hearing your voice I shiver
Resisting your call full of persuasive command
Feeling my willpower crumpling I waiver
How I long to take your hand
The windows burst open
As you appear from the mist in front of me
In your obsessive gaze I am trapped frozen
Knowing I will never be free
Love and fear warring
I can’t deny the danger I see in your eyes
But try as I might to deny, I am yours for the taking
Despite my minds fearful cries
Pulled into your arms I’m lost
Your dark kiss, claiming more than my heart
The fatal line finally crossed
From all I’ve known I eagerly depart
Into the darkness we fall
A freshly made vampire bride
Hearing only the sound of your dark call
Forever sworn to your immortal side
