Too Pretty to Frown

Updated on August 4, 2014
Source

I lied,

I cheated,

I said, "I love you",

but I didn't feel it.

I'm a rolling stone

like my Daddy,

I even drive Momma crazy.

I'm no good at all.

I'm pitiful.

I smile, but I'm not happy.

I'm just too pretty to frown.

I like vodka, rum, and whisky.

Drinking water just plain kills me.

I've got a cold heart and a hot, hot body.

Someone should really stop me.

I'm a lost soul

like my Daddy.

Momma can't even tame me.

I'm not good at all.

I'm pitiful.

I smile, but I'm not happy.

I'm just too pretty to frown.

I don't find beauty in the colors of the wind.

I like the pain that I'm always holding in.

Misery is my most loyal friend.

He visits me again and again and again...

We're inseparable.

Daddy would be so proud...

If your friends hate your boy friend it seems to me that is their issue - as long as you are happy with him - cheers and nice work here...

Ryem, here we have a proverb in Hindi that means " youth is just wild" ( jawani deewani hoti hai ) You have brought forth a perfect picture of wild ways of the youth.

What a great poem! Very powerful. I liked the rhythm and the message. It seems a very common cry, but it was so well put here.

Love this poem, you can't judge a book by it's cover. just because you look happy, it maybe "you are just too pretty to frown".
