Trapped In My Thoughts

Updated on August 6, 2015

Trapped In My Thoughts

Caged in my thoughts

it feel as I could

never get out

a wave of thoughts

come rushing in.

It feels as if I'm in

an ocean, when the tides

are constantly coming.

Reasons I do not understand.

Great Ideas flow through

my mind

I never seem to put it in action

it's just trapped

in my thoughts.

As am I.

That is one of the unpleasant things about writing poetry. When I am inspired things flow smoothly but when things get boggled in my mind and the thoughts don't straighten out then it becomes a difficult process indeed.

Sometimes I feel the same way. They're so many thoughts flowing in my mind that at times it can feel overwhelming. I now keep a note pad with me or a mini tape recorder with me at all times and get that stuff down. Some of my best work has come from random thoughts that I wove together to create.

The mind is an interesting thing. We can get trapped there, retreat there, or use it to grow.

      Beautiful poem.

Those thoughts need to come out and be committed to paper! I'm sure there are plenty to use. Sometimes we do get lost in thoughts though, don't we?!

      Great poem!
