Trending Now: Genesis 8:7-12 Linked to Manila's Flood?
Genesis 8:7-12
What has caused Genesis 8:7-12 to gain sudden popularity in the Philippines? Let's delve into this phenomenon.
Genesis 8:7-12 from the Bible reads:
7 And he sent forth a raven, which went forth to and fro, until the waters were dried up from off the earth.
8 Also he sent forth a dove from him, to see if the waters were abated from off the face of the ground;
9 But the dove found no rest for the sole of her foot, and she returned unto him into the ark, for the waters were on the face of the whole earth: then he put forth his hand, and took her, and pulled her in unto him into the ark.
10 And he stayed yet other seven days; and again he sent forth the dove out of the ark;
11 And the dove came in to him in the evening; and, lo, in her mouth was an olive leaf pluckt off: so Noah knew that the waters were abated from off the earth.
12 And he stayed yet other seven days; and sent forth the dove; which returned not again unto him any more.
The date last Tuesday was August 7, 2012, shortened date is 8-7-12.
The NCR (National Capital Region, Manila) and other provinces were shocked to experience heavy rainfalls that occurred last Tuesday.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration or PAGASA declared that there's no tropical cyclone within the Philippine Area of Responsibility and all these heavy downpours was mainly brought by the southwest monsoon.
A massive flood brought by the southwest monsoon rains submerged 80% of Metro Manila and other neighboring provinces. Flood deaths now climb to 60 and others were still missing.
Work and schools were called off last Tuesday because of the heavy rains and was extended until Wednesday. Other schools were used as an evacuation centers for those people whose houses are still submerged in water.
Even now, numerous families continue to seek shelter in basketball courts and evacuation centers, far from the submerged areas, until the floodwaters recede from their homes.
Yet, as I gaze upwards, ominous dark clouds still loom overhead.
Some individuals were fortunate enough to salvage personal belongings, but for those who weren't, the silent cries for help reverberate throughout, particularly for families reliant on daily work to secure food.
Mountains of garbage reveal their secrets alongside the floodwaters, exacerbating sickness. As the age-old adage goes: "The garbage you just threw away will get back to you someday.”
This saying is widely embraced by supporters of the Clean and Green Movement, aiming to promote proper waste disposal practices.
It will likely be several days before the floodwaters completely recede, but for now, we all cling to hope for a brighter tomorrow. I also humbly request your prayers for the safety and well-being of everyone affected.
What is interesting is that, the date was linked to the passage in the Bible found in Genesis 8:7-12 which talked about Noah and the Great Flood.
Do you think that the flood that submerged Philippine’s capital city is only a coincidence to the numbers which the passage refers? Or the Genesis numbers represent a real event in the future that man hasn’t just noticed?
