Trouble In Paradise

Updated on February 1, 2013

Constantly Complaining

We do it because...

That is the way we were taught

That is the way we think

That is the best way to a solution

That is the only way we know

That is as ridiculous as writing that every time

We are the highest form of intelligence in the world

Why can't we stop from complaining that leads to arguing ?

Why do we find something trival so important ?

Lets leave this situation and think

How did this whole problem come about ?

I know when I don't have the right answer I ask for help

So here is my delema

It was early morning and my wife and I got up from a great night sleep

Wonderful love making

We both jumped in the shower seperately so we wouldn't go back to more incredible love making

My wife thinks enough one for one day

I think differently but then that is a thought for another day

So both up and getting on with our day

I am positively flying sharing every incredible emotion known to man

My wife on the other hand

Instantly starts complaining about plastic containers that she has that don't fit

The covers don't fit

I know she bought them everyone worked

She had old containers in the past when she had this problem before

We have since thrown them out and bought all new ones

My solution was that maybe after use they get warped from the microwave and they don't fit properly

Instead of hearing me out she continued to shout

How can they not fit

Are they like when you put socks in the dryer and you end up losing one

It doesn't make sense to me?

Leave all the containers together for next time

With an impatient loud voice

We don't have the room

Rationally they have to fit

Mark each container like 1a with a cover 1a

Next time you will be sure they go together

Soon after she found the covers to match the containers and her lunch was made

I came out to see if she marked any of the containers

Nope

Right now tension is high and I am going to let it slip by

I will maybe mark each container tonight while she sleeps

Wait till next time and she repeats the same senerio again

She just finished cooking lunch

I am going to eat

I think I will show her my writing after lunch

Good idea what do you think ?

Keep an open mind ?

Try not to judge who is right or wrong

Just looking for a solution and then we can move along

Quarrels which are trivial are best solved immediately because they are not worth the time to keep a grudge. About those socks lost in a dryer. With our old washing machine we kept losing socks. I told Martin that we used to have a joke in the states about how washing machines ate socks. When the machine broke down completely he opened it up and in the motor part which gets the machine turning there was a sock wrapped so tight he had to cut it loose. Alas the machine never worked again and now we have a new one. This time no lost socks. lol

Correctly said this is what causes issues in many relationships the blaming and the cursing but no one wants to talk about it.

DREAM ON...Whoa...What are you thinking ? This conversation has taken place in probably every marriage/relationship in the world ( where tupperware is sold). My Husband and I have discussed this, but we call it " Marital Conversation". The containers are guaranteed to warp, trust me, and I don't use them in a microwave/dishwasher..Thank you for sharing an honest personal experience..I'm still chuckling as I write...loved the share...

What a great look into the trivial quarrels that befall all couples. Something as simple as tupperware can start a fight. I think I have been in that same one in fact LOL. Fun read!

An old mentor of mine told me to not sweat the small stuff and it's all small stuff. It's amazing how we can allow a small, seemingly insignificant act, build up into such a big thing. :) Good luck!
