What is True Love?
What is true love? Do you really know? Is it the feeling you get when you see someone for the first time or is that simply attraction?
The Bible states in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7, “Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. 7 Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.”
While 1 Corinthians 13 details the aspects of what love is, it still misses the one defying aspect of true love as defined in John 15:13, which days, “Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.“
True love is when you give more to someone else than you may ever get back. This is true unselfish love.
Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.- 1 John 4:11

Can change your heart
Wash away pain
Offer you a new start
Might wonder how I know
This to be true
Cause what Love did for me
Love can do for you
Once I was lost
Afraid of what life would hold
Each day I would dread
Each day I would feel so cold
But I sought out Love
I felt Love calling my name
Love offered me comfort
My heart was finally set free
Love will renew
Your heart and mind
Help you take words of Love
To those you find
So they may be drawn
Under the wings of Love
As they travel in this world
And the world to come
True Love
Can change your heart
Wash away pain
Offer you a new start
Might wonder how I know
This to be true
Cause what Love did for me
Love can do for you
And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. - Colossians 3:14
