True Love Poems: Sweet Addiction

Updated on June 8, 2013

She

Struck My Heart

Her love was addiction.

I craved her every day and every night.

Till my heart collapsed in my chest rendering me powerless.

Suddenly I couldn’t breathe anymore.

Her love could not be found.

She had gone.

Away.

No more Love.

I pulled the needle out.

My heart was scarred but I pushed through it all.

I learned to love myself and become the strongest man I could.

Now when I look back, it was worth all the pain, because I learned true love will never leave.

Thanks, been through a bit of a dry spell, but hopefully I'll get my muse back.

Wow you know something I hadn't even thought about this poem as one about addiction, but now that I re-read it, I guess it does have a double meaning.

Philly - Such a powerful and awesome fight against a gutless enemy who only knows how to fight dirty. Glad to know you overcame the monster and I bow my head in admiration to you.

You can do anything, the possibilities are endless.......

Some people take longer than others to discover this, but somehow it always happens at the right time.

Beautiful poem - I do believe that True Love finds you as you learn to love yourself. I'm happy that you are happy now! Voted up!

Yes, I wanted to show my rebirth in love. I thought I had someone that was worth every sacrifice, but I wound up with someone I never had to sacrifice a thing, because she loved my for what I am.

From powerful (with love), to powerless, to powerful once again. Beautiful poem!

This is so wonderfully sad, I hope your pain is leaving soon.

      Voted up and beautiful, Joyce.
