Try Again - Don't Expect, Suggest

Updated on January 3, 2010

Numb by U2

Don't move Don't talk out of time Don't think Don't worry Everything's just fine Just fine Don't grab Don't clutch Don't hope for too much Don't breathe Don't achieve or grieve without leave Don't check Just balance on the fence Don't answer Don't ask Don't try and make sense Don't whisper Don't talk Don't run if you can walk Don't cheat, compete Don't miss the one beat Don't travel by train Don't eat Don't spill Don't piss in the drain Don't make a will Don't fill out any forms...

We Can Try by JBeadle

We can try

not to fail

but is that really trying?

Try again

No need to fear.

No harm in trying.

We can live

Not to fall

But what are you thinking?

You can't do

can't do it all...

It really doesn't matter.

Look for it

What did you find?

Is it elsewhere?

Not in your mind?

Is it ever anywhere else?

Anywhere but inside your self?

You can try

try again

You can do this.

We can try

Try again

We’re always trying...

Some say you do

Or else do not

that is what I'm denying.

Seems to me

We’ll just always be

Hung up forever trying.

It's ok, be at peace

With yourself.

Take some relief.

You can try

try again

I truly believe this.

That is the answer.

that I send

You can try

Try again

You can be

Be yourself

From this moment forward.

If you're not

If you think you failed.

It's never over.

If you aren’t where

You want to be

It really doesn’t matter.

But if it does

Be on your way

Go find your own answers.

But I say you can try again.

You can always start over.

And over.

I like the distinction between just trying not to fail and expressing your own individuality. That's a great message for 2010. Happy New Year!
