Child Abuse - The Story of Two Little Girls
What A Sadness

I can’t believe it happened again
When will all this nonsense end!
Children should be treasured and loved
Not to be abused or disposed of
Another little girl that in my room
Has a home life steeped in doom
Someone is hurting her badly
No one will listen to her sadly
She came to school in lots of tears
Told me of all her childhood fears
Told me that someone was touching her in places
Said that at night she kept seeing these faces
Of the one that hurts her every night
Said that no one listens to her plight
She told her mom and then her dad
They said she was lying and being bad
Said that she was accusing lifelong friends
Wanted to know when her lies would end
My little sweet faced scared young girl
Had no one to turn to in her little world
So she decided that she would try to trust me
Hoping I could make the bad girl let her be
I asked if she knew the woman’s name
The one that hurts her so bad she will never be the same
When she told me who was touching her beyond her will
Those words, they haunt me still
I imagined a monster in this world
When I found out, the “monster” was another little girl…
