Two little boys

Updated on April 5, 2012

Two little boys, they grow up so fast

Two little boys, have their birthdays at last

They waited all year for their day to arrive

They thought they never would ever survive

The oldest was first, on a Tuesday this year

The day turned out perfect with nothing to fear

The presents were just what the young man requested

A good time was had by all uncontested

On Easter the youngest will be a year older

Another year smarter and taller and bolder

Easter Eggs and Birthday cake, quite a combination

A special way to celebrate, Jesus’ resurrection

Gone are the days of the zoo and the park

Library story time and bed before dark

Instead we make time for cub scouts and sports

School days, homework and book reports

Time goes by, they grow and they change

Each moment precious, no two the same

My life is sacred, my love entwined

With these two little boys of mine.

Fry's and hot dogs aren't as gourmet as steak and baked potatoes.

It seemed like a beautiful morning to run today. My youngest wanted to sign up for cross country this month, but the school isn't offering it this spring. He'll have to wait. But he came in 4th at field day even though his shoe came untied and he had to stop and fix it on the first lap and went back for it when it fell off the second time around. Sounds like their perfect diet...if you replace the steak with hot dogs and the potatoes with fries. Also what their doc recommended to gain weight.

If your boys become runners, feed them lots of carbs and lots of meat (spaghetti, steak, baked potatoes, wings, pizza, etc). Some people ask me how I stay in shape and what I eat to maintain a healthy weight, here it is - pizza, steak, spaghetti, ice cream, soda. There's nothing special to it. No fad diets necessary - especially if you run a lot. And the running becomes fun after a while.

Ha ha, probably not. Lets see, we only had 3 and our friends we went with had a bunch. Kept them busy for awhile anyway. Glad you are feeling better. Being sick is no fun.

This would probably not be a good shirt to wear to church on Easter:

This is probably my favorite death metal band.

How many rockets did you launch? I remember how I always had my favorite rocket (I think it had flames painted on it).

This week, I feel so much better. I was able to run 7.8 miles on the treadmill today. Last week, my stomach wasn't feeling so good and I was unable to run a lot. Missed running Tuesday because I was throwing up. :(

Sorry, I meant to comment more. It reminded me of when I was a younger boy. Of course, I've changed a bit too. Nowadays, I celebrate Easter listening to some good blasphemous death metal and black metal. I don't too many sports but I like to run in my free time. I am focused on my school studies and personal studies. Life does change.

Rockets. I remember launching rockets. Sometimes we lost the rockets and couldn't find them. I still see families in my park launching rockets with their children while I'm running or biking to church. It's a relaxing site.

Oh wait, ignore that comment. I see the "never" now. My mind sometimes plays tricks on me. Wicked mind.

"They thought they never would ever survive"

As someone who is in a community where many people have English as their first language (this community is called college), I normally try not to criticize poor English grammar but I do believe you meant to say "never" and not "ever".
