Under Her Smile - Sad Poem
She was walking home from school
That day…
As she got home…
Her mother drag her in
By the neck of her uniform shirt
Close the door behind her shut
And grab a yard stick
Whacking her real hard…
She screamed and cried
But know one was brave to save her….
On the floor she laid
Her mother drag her hair…
Across the living room to her bedroom
She held on the door
But the pulling was too aggressive
She could not hold tight
Her mother whack
One time two time
Three time and four
And so many more....
Leaves bruises and mark on her skin
She ran in the closet
And shut the door tight
Pushing drawer
Against the door
She cried frantically alone in the closet
Pressing her hand against her ear
In the dark small place
Filled with clothe and hangers..
In the morning she goes to school
Wearing a sweater
Hiding the bruise her mother made
Under her smile she pretend
That everything was okay…
