Under Her Smile - Sad Poem

Updated on July 26, 2011

She was walking home from school
That day…
As she got home…
Her mother drag her in
By the neck of her uniform shirt

Close the door behind her shut
And grab a yard stick
Whacking her real hard…

She screamed and cried
But know one was brave to save her….

On the floor she laid
Her mother drag her hair…
Across the living room to her bedroom

She held on the door
But the pulling was too aggressive
She could not hold tight

Her mother whack
One time two time
Three time and four

And so many more....

Leaves bruises and mark on her skin

She ran in the closet
And shut the door tight
Pushing drawer
Against the door

She cried frantically alone in the closet
Pressing her hand against her ear
In the dark small place
Filled with clothe and hangers..

In the morning she goes to school
Wearing a sweater
Hiding the bruise her mother made

Under her smile she pretend
That everything was okay…

Thank Saddlerider1, I know that she's waiting for me. I missed her dearly. I spoke about this with my fiance when we were looking through files and found her picture in my diary book which I kept when I was eight. Then I tell him story about her life...I never wanted to speak about it because it breaks my heart, but my fiance asked me to open up. So I decided to share it on hub. Thank you for reading! :)

Chanroth, this is a prelude to your friends death, how sad that this child was abused, I know the sting of abuse and I have felt it in my soul. Sometimes we scream for life to end and take us away from the abuse and cuts and bruises on our small bodies. How sick are humans to treat their own children like this. I pray that Anna is RIP in Heaven and waiting for you my friend. How sad, so sad...
