Unspent Desire
amidst roiling cloud cover
steeled in color,
buxom in timbre,
i climb to a summit
suffused with unspent desire.
walking among fronds
which touch knees
curling their way toward
branch and lichen
spreading thinly above,
i wonder where all the time went
falling between fingers
splayed to the sun
objects lost in time,
disarranged,
disrobed by thought.
each a universe unto itself.
head rests upon hand
soaked in the brine of dreams
to preserve them.
transmitting desires
transmuting dreams
i float outside periphery
becoming more real
taking on substance
unfiltered by the clock
and above,
silence.
