amidst roiling cloud cover

steeled in color,

buxom in timbre,

i climb to a summit

suffused with unspent desire.

walking among fronds

which touch knees

curling their way toward

branch and lichen

spreading thinly above,

i wonder where all the time went

falling between fingers

splayed to the sun

objects lost in time,

disarranged,

disrobed by thought.

each a universe unto itself.

head rests upon hand

soaked in the brine of dreams

to preserve them.

transmitting desires

transmuting dreams

i float outside periphery

becoming more real

taking on substance

unfiltered by the clock

and above,

silence.

Hi Audrey, Oh, yes. "I wonder where all the time went falling between fingers..." I think we all feel like that at some time in our lives.

This is wonderful poetry, well worth multiple readings.

..I consider myself somewhat of an anti-poet as I try to subvert the genre and challenge its conventions but you my friend are ' a true poet' and I could never write this well in a million years - I love your traditional form because you are a master at your craft and I admire you and ...envy you too. lake erie time 12:59pm and sending you warm wishes and good energy from summertime in Canada (and sorry to the Gershwins - "the living is easy ....''

Audrey I really like your work. New to hub pages, I have not read very many posts at this time. I am a fan of poetry, and find this very beautiful. I kept finding myself looking at the photo after each line that I read. I could visualize peace and serenity and feel a cool breeze while taking a walk.

I do not know what all of the words meant, many I have never heard of, but I am looking forward to researching those words so that I can get a more clear understanding of its beauty.

Hope to hear from you more and more.
