Useful Websites to teach Kids in ESL
I like talking to kids. They bring out the kid in me. That is why I love to hear their stories and their favorite toys. I love to ask a lot of questions at the same time use materials to teach them. I bookmarked some of my favorite websites when teaching Kids in an ESL lesson.
Here are some of my favorite websites that you can use:
1. Starfall:
I like this website because the students can listen to the phonics sounds as well as they can use their imagination in creating their own character. Not to mention you can also teach them Mathematics.
2. Story berries:
I love reading stories to children. Although the words inside the stories are difficult to understand however you can explain it in a simple manner plus there are photos that you can share with them so they can understand the stories. This website includes 5 minutes stories, 10 minutes, 15 minutes, 20 minutes stories as well as stories for babies and toddlers.
3. Prekinders:
I had a student who loves dinosaurs and he knows a lot of dinosaur names. Since I am not interested I don't know anything with regards to it's name. But if you are a teacher you have to make an effort to study it. Thus I found this article to engage in discussions with the student. I also like this website since it can enhance the imagination of the students as well as you can print it out so the kids can study at home also.
4. Little Fox:
It is also highly recommend for kids since there is a video, a text, an audio and quiz on this website. However the only downside to this there are stories which you cannot access because you need to log in.
5. Learning Chocolate:
My favorite of all website. It is very easy to use and you can choose different categories too. There is an audio beside the photo and you can let your students match the correct words to the pictures.
I hope you will try to use it and let me know if they like it.
