Valentines from Grandma
Valentines from Grandma by Diana Pierce
I sent my love a valentine for this special day,
A gesture just from me with what I want to say.
Visits seem so far between and calling just won’t do,
Surely this surprise will be a treasure sweet and true.
I sent my love a valentine with hearts and clever verse,
A perky little valentine designed for children first;
Love and joy and scattered art devoted just for kids,
A friendly little note of love that grandmas love to give;
I sent my love a valentine miles and miles away,
A day or two or maybe three will get it there okay,
Candy money tucked inside and blessed with love galore,
A message for my grand-babies to say, whom I adore;
I sent my love a valentine to brighten up their week,
To show them that I love them, they simply are too sweet,
I sent a special valentine with many thoughts to nurture,
For any act of kindness brings memories for the future.
