Vegas Street Poetry Vol.4

Updated on March 25, 2013

The City at night

Dance floor

Party beads

Glow sticks

Land of Candy

With lights and speakers

Body shots

Cocaine and either

Mindless madness

Sleepless Speed

Liars and thieves

That never weep

Building pressure

Sweat drips free

Hidden in the clouds

Of burning leaves

Time works backwards

Divinity creeps

Absently preserving

The minds

Needing no sleep

Put the odds in your favor

Cherry reels

Lucky number 7

The arm of a slot machine

Like a kings scepter

Melts in the glass

Antagonizing lights

Cigarettes burn

To ash

Falling short

By the machines

So lustfully yours

Sacrificing all

That you adore

Please return

Hungry for more

Dripping with sweat

Crawling towards the door

To play

First glance

With no warnings

It seems harmless

Like a bullet

Hugging a firing pin

A second look

At a menace

Your understanding

To make it back

With more

Than when you came

Last sight

Of the night

That filled your heart

With shame

Seeing is deceiving

In the eyes

Of a wandering traveler

Buildings are melting

Distorting and challenging

The minds that use logic

Are thrown out of reach

Blood reaches a boiling point

Changing the intentions

Of the hopeful explorers

Who don’t understand

Walking on the sealing

With no hope of feeling

The punishments inflicted

On the unsuspected

Thank you both for stopping by to check it out. I apologize for taking a while to get back to you. Ive been traveling around the area to live up as many experiences as possible in between my night and weekend jobs. In my upcoming time off here i will return with plenty of new material that you are more than welcome to check out.

      Until then my friends,

Love these poems of yours. Those one-armed bandits will get you every time.

These poems have the immediacy of the Strip, that urge that goads you to put another twenty in the infernal machine, after all, you won a thousand once.
