Very Special Acts of Kindness

Updated on June 26, 2017

Very Special Acts of Kindness by Diana Pierce

Everyday is a new beginning,
A new adventure to explore,
Everyone can know being,
Blessed with love and much more.
More than understanding life,
More than lessons we learn twice.
Very special acts of kindness,
Come to us without blindness,

============================================

Don't look away from ugly sights,
Embrace the world with all its frights.
For beauty lies underneath hiding,
Discrete and waiting for our finding.
No stone is tossed at good intentions,
No good deeds are flawed inventions.
Smile and the world reacts to it,
Be kind, be hopeful, never quit.

=============================================

Every heart deserves affection,
Love beats a strong infection.
For every wrong there is a right,
A right that's ready for a fight.
Everywhere that freedom dwells,
Everyone's hope of living well.
Declaring wars soon to cease.
With granted liberties of peace.

=============================================

So go onto the world and speak,
Talk wise to everyone you see,
Conquer understanding minds,
Prepare to care for all kinds.
Go where no man ever went,
Go befriend the ignorant.
Respect to all as time descends,
Don't be alone to face the end.

      That's a beautiful poem Diana. I like the line 'Go befriend the ignorant.' That's very true. Respect works both ways, and I always show respect to people.

      Thank you Vellur and Peggy. I appreciate your feedback. I wonder sometimes why hate is such an issue when really all most people want is love and respect.

      Your poem has such thoughtful meaning and I wish more people today would embrace those thoughts and put them into action. Our world would be more peaceful and people would be much happier.

      Oh Diana, so beautiful. This should be a pledge taken by every human being, especially within the current climate we find ourselves. Thanks for making your poetic contribution to encouraging the practice of kindness. Well done!

      Great poem with noble thoughts. Love and understanding come at a price, more than most are not willing to pay.
