Virgin on the Rope
A northern light succumbs to her passing, luminosity so brightly inside her heart, I watch as she dances and tangles upon sturdy strand. Virgin on the rope, dance to your twirl upon graven images untold. Wetness from the blackest of night skies, I’ve seen blanket the air with their intended purpose to drown. Virgin on the rope, I only wonder what act brought you to her haunting gallows, ah so full of envy! Back and forth, to and fro, um she distinguishes the death row rhythm. Virgin on the rope, dancer within the sky, victim inside my eye. We are hung as one. Virgin on the rope, blood upon the ground, I am home.
