My Vows to Him...

© 2015 Missy Smith

I am yours

for all the better

and badness.

I am yours

through the many

days I’ve suffered

with sadness,

through that

thin line of my

love and hate.

I am yours

even as I walk

through those

eternal gates.

I've never loved

this way before

even though this

world keeps me

from being yours.

I am yours

within my eyes,

for all who say

I’m not I despise.

I am yours

through this

beautiful obstacle

illusion, because

It’s more real to

me than the others

I have fused with.

I am yours

in my dreams at

night, where I can

feel my arms holding

you tight.

Our bodies intertwined

as we lay side by side

touching lips and

looking into each

others eyes.

For whatever reason

God let this happen,

I praise his powers

to make this connection.

I am yours

when I stare up at

the stars, I know you

are there somewhere

among them all.

I am yours

though we are worlds

apart. We stay frozen

in time as the earth

revolves.

I am yours

because I simply

have no way not to

be.

My heart keeps me

captive, but I hope

it never sets me free.

Yes, my love, I will

be yours forever, for

Always…

It was an important poem for me to write about someone I felt complete and unconditional love for. I suppose I still do. However, a few days after I published this hub, that person decided it didn't feel the same for him after about a year and two months of conversing and getting to know each other. It's the typical pattern for me. Even so, I'm glad I felt like that about someone. It felt special, even if it was for a short time. Thanks for reading aviannovice. :)

Thank you so much Chitrangada. You know what I have noticed? That being totally open and honest about your feelings is a very difficult thing to do, unless it's the only thing you can do. And when it comes to this person I'm speaking to in this poem, I've never been able to do anything but be honest and open. I thank you for reading my poem and leaving such a lovely comment. Many Blessings! :)

Heartfelt, touching and beautiful expressions !

You gave words to unconditional love and total submission, which is otherwise quite difficult.

      Simply outstanding! Thank you.

"Love this person more than I ever thought I could." It is very true that we do not know how much love we are capable of until we actually fall into it. You are welcome.

Maybe the best kind of love lasts Dana, just not in the way we would like it to. Maybe true love has to drift away so we can keep it forever in our hearts and soul. That feeling of love will never go away if we are always longing for that special someone, right? After all, this world we live in now makes it difficult for lovers to last in a really together relationship. Thank you for sharing and loving my poem! :)

Thanks Surabhi. I actually wanted them to read like as if I were at my wedding reciting my own vows. This would be how I would write them.

I am yours' is a beautiful poem. It speaks of romance and completeness, feeling safe and trusting. It reminds you of why we keep striving for love even if it doesn't last. This poem has brightened up my day and I want to pass on the love...so I'm sharing it.

How lovely, Missy! I like how you start with 'I'm yours'... beautifully rings in ears. I like Jodah's comment. It's true.

In these days of the Internet I think "virtual or cyber love" can be almost as deeply felt and and true as physical love. The world is a much different place now and we can connect with people on the other side of the Earth that we would never have been able to have contact with before.

I am yours....what a terrific theme of surrender for the romantic lover! You have shown the power of imagining love in order to make it real. Your words are expressive, evocative and ring with a passionate, emotional spirit. We live in the days of virtual love, long distance yearning. You have capture this in a very original way. Bravo!

Yes, Swalia, I was just thinking to myself, that if I'm not writing about complete pleasure, then I'm writing pain. I'm going to write something completely different next time I hope. Lol... Thank you!

Thank you Jodah. Although I was just saying to myself, that I must stop being so sugar sweet and corny. Lol.

I'll probably try to write an article next. These words just sprouted after a conversation I had with this certain person I speak of here.

I almost didn't publish it. From here on, I think I will not write about this person. I'm going to keep my words to myself. Thanks again! :)
