Vulnerable

Updated on September 1, 2010

Close your eyes little girl

  so you miss my intentions

Blink twice little girl

so you can't see the truth to all my lies

Turn your head little girl

so you won't see the monster I am

Keep your distance little girl

so your fragile heart is safe

Trust me not little girl

  so you won't be betrayed

Don't lust for me little girl

so you keep what you can only give once

Listen to mommy little girl

so you don't fall into my trap

Protect you little girl

so you won't know my pain

I'll tell you things little girl

so you will be with me

I want one thing little girl

  it's not your personality

I'll use you little girl

for my own satisfaction and game

Then I'll forget you little girl

  I already forgot your name.

While the subject is a bit uncomfortable, it is a truth of life that young ladies are warned against time and again. The poem paints the true picture of those who would prey on the romance of a young girl's innocent heart and break it. Good write! WB

Billericky I'm happy to hear you'll be passing on poetry to your children, I'm happy to hear that my poems are the type that you will chose to share. Thank you so much for your comment and I hope to have more to add to your favorites.

Very nicely written if somewhat close to the bone. Your writing can be inspirational to younger people, I have a six year old daughter, and when she gets a little older, it is poetry and readings like this that I will be reading to her.

Thank you both for the comments. Although it seems disturbing, it has a lot of underlying meaning too, which is less uncomfortable to read about. I'm glad you both enjoyed the read and I can't wait to check out both of your hubs.

I found this to be a really good write with great flow though I must say it is somewhat distrubing at the same time. Then again, alot of really good poetry is. I think this should be mandatory reading for young girls looking to date older guys ;)!
