What an Amazing Grace
Sweat-flakes daintily decorated His thorn-crowned brow,
He searched, but no friends in tow
On went He, a-stumbling step after step,
Bent, laden with a cross, as daylight paid its debt.
on the next rise, watched I, having a clear view
a sinner immodest with a wonderful motley crew
mocked I did and laughed, scoffed and dutifully clapped
On went He, unheeding - my taunts around him wrapped
suddenly, there - the place of crucifixion
drawn was I - this spot of divine ablution
Eyes open - I saw his compassionate tears
"Son," he said, "I have entirely taken your fears...
Watch, if you must, at my seeming great disgrace,
But go, tell others- this is Amazing Grace".
Many times since then
Grace has made me to learn
how to truly appreciate others
and become friendly towards sufferers
All that glitters is not gold, I fear
The road to destruction is easier and quite near
And many have fallen into the snare of it
even when they know, they are unable to quit
My story changed at calvary
when I put aside my false chivalry
Bravado is a form of unfortunate pretence
And because of it, I almost lost my eternal existence
Behold, while we were still in sin, He died in disgrace
This, my dear friend, is AMAZING GRACE!
