What Is Peace Felt?

Updated on February 20, 2018

Kathi writes about fossils and other earthly subjects, plus the natural history of Michigan, poetry, and more.

There are so many ways in which we can find quiet moments of reflection in our daily lives. First, recognizing the need, however brief, is essential. Did you ever think about the many ways you can go about finding a peaceful moment in your busy life? It's important not only for our health, but for our mental outlooks as well. Having moments of silence frees our minds of the daily clutter and worries which inhibits us. Taking a break frees our minds to conjure up the brilliance we all behold. With that in mind, I have compiled some ideas that may help you, accompanied with my beautiful photography.

Note: Sometimes, simply by thinking about these things may give you one of those "aaah" feelings and foster the desire to experience it. Otherwise, close your eyes and use your imagination. Enjoy . . . .

A fresh blanket of fallen snow

A soft breeze tickling your face

Looking up at the stars on a clear October night

Viewing a beautiful work of art

Winter's first snow

Beholding the landscape from the dune top

A warm smile

A warm bed

Walking through a grassy meadow

Watching and listening to children build sand castles

Holding a lovers hand

A purring kitty cat

Becoming one with a soothing saxophone solo

Observing busy little ants

When ones soul finally understands another's

A stroll through a beautiful garden landscape

Children laughing

Bedtime stories

Fairy tale endings

A mother's tender kiss

A visit from Grandma

The echo of a distant train whistle

Alone deep in the forest

The sound of gentle waves cascading across grains of sand

Sifting sand through your fingers

Fulfilling a promise

Making Up

Making Love

Observing butterflies flutter from flower to flower

Witnessing a golden sunset over Lake Michigan

A hot meal

A good movie

A candle lit bath

Singing in the shower

When the beauty a flower stops you in your tracks

Windswept resonances through treetops

Watching little fishes float freely

Standing outside during a warm downpour with open arms

The scent of fresh air after a morning rain shower

Silence in the marsh

When you have the beach all to yourself

Wading barefoot through a hidden forest pond

Free falling snowflakes

Listening to Christmas carols

Springtime blossoms

First warm day of Spring after a long hard Winter

Sitting around the campfire with loved ones

Listening to children's prayers

The hush after a thunderstorm

One's awareness of deep inhaling and exhaling

Trusting in The Creator and The Universe

Now I lay me down to sleep

I pray mankind will find the love to live in peace

Peace what is peace felt, well you've honored it magically. I value peace as it is priceless. Peace is my guide to a happy and balanced life always heading me in the right direction as when there is a lack of peace I know I should not do it, when at total peace I know I'm doing exactly what I should without doubt. Peace has no room for doubt! Love your work! :) Katie

I love this, Kathi simply beautiful and I share each and every line as though from my own soul - except that my grandpas were both dead before my parents reached puberty. I've had the vicarious joy of seeing & sharing in my own grands and great-grands (and step-grands and great grandson) enjoy their step-grandpa, my beloved George, though. You are a true emissary of peace in a troubled world. Hugs. . .
