Whispers on the Breeze
Somewhere along the rainbow
I slipped and lost my way,
caught amongst the tepid blue
enveloped in clouds of grey.
Springtime steps asunder
as windless thrusts prevail,
crooked smiles that blunder
ideas are forced to fail.
A common place is misery
as love unties the swell,
moonshine frosts delivery
melting on the gates of hell.
Can I play with madness
a song that's all to real,
engulfed in waves of sadness
depends on how I feel.
Pain is just an emotion
that smites the smile to freeze,
lost thoughts become a notion,
and whisper with the breeze.
Do you want to remember
or like me just wish to forget,
a love that was once so tender,
but now you just regret.
Stagger past uncertainty
amidst the truth you seek,
feelings of misplaced empathy
frozen tears that want to leak.
Somewhere there is a nightmare
seeking sleep to steal,
decaying images that only share
terrors that seem so real.
Passion tries to hold me
as restless voices shout,
reflections of another see
to where you left your doubt.
Crying laughter swallows all
beneath the sun turns black,
lost souls alone seem so small
when there's no one at your back.
