Waking up in the morning

Many are the times when we wake up in the morning, full of vigor and raring to face the day ahead, head poised up to a day full of promise. Many are the goals we hope to achieve. But what does the day have for me? Our minds question. Moments before you face the day, what do you go through? Private moments conceal private thoughts. This is a time when we want to be alone until we are ready to face the world.

The day may be full of good things, but a day also carries enough evil in it to occupy you till sun downer. The photographic imagery in your mind speaks tons. It is such a panoramic stream of events that we rarely mention to anybody. Not that it has anything worth writing home about. But, how is your waking up in the morning each and every day?

To a bright new day that chased night away

Sweet sleep behind me, to another day I wake

A prayer unto the lord, much hope for today

Many prayers behind me, answers still pending

A scrub to refresh my muscles

A hot bath to wake our nerves

Waking up in the morning,

A clean towel beckons, fluffy, warm

Ohh, how lovely the soft touch on my skin

Waking up in the morning,

A comb to untangle my tuft.

Order to soon be restored

Waking up in the morning,

A dash of perfume to liven my scents,

A touch of cologne to jolt me to nature’s smells

Waking up in the morning,

Viscose cotton ironed crisp and prim,

Waits to sooth my skin afresh

Waking up in the morning,

New slacks to cover my frame

A tribute to my creator, grateful for life

Waking up in the morning,

A scarf to hug my neck,

An earth wire to ground my voltage

Waking up in the morning,

To a bright new day that chased night away

Sweet sleep behind me, to another day I wake
