War certainly ain't no FUN! How many Mother's bawled for their sons

Updated on July 1, 2014

We shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender.

Winston Churchill

Build me a son, O Lord, who will be strong enough to know when he is weak, and brave enough to face himself when he is afraid, one who will be proud and unbending in honest defeat, and humble and gentle in victory.

Douglas MacArthur

Older men declare war. But it is the youth that must fight and die.

Herbert Hoover

War does not determine who is right - only who is left.

Bertrand Russell

There is no instance of a nation benefitting from prolonged warfare.

Sun Tzu

We are going to have peace even if we have to fight for it.

Dwight D. Eisenhower

War Quotes Source :

The cries and woes of war

how many young men left their

homes hoping to return.

Fighting for their country

will make them proud.

Hardened hearts left with

guns, and sailed away to

sea where they’ll be offloaded

to fight like a man and be brave

and bold as a lion. There's seldom

a phone to make connections home,

a letter will take months to reach.

Why oh why do we sail these perilous

seas , keeping a close eyes on our enemies

as we sail to shore. Guns charged and bombs

just waiting to be thrown.

Is this the life we wished for why should

we kill these humans we once adored.

brothers and sisters falling ,they all slumped

to the floor. Chaos ,as smoke fills the air,

buildings tumbles and rumbles. Noises

sends people and animals running wild.

Soldiers longing for shelter from the cold

longing for, a place called home.

too many casualties , severed hands

and feet, lost of vision, lost of hope

oh Lord give us strength to cope.

How many mothers bawl for their sons

how many wives were left undone,

war is certainly no fun……..
