A Warning of our Forefathers
A house so divided cannot stand, advice so long ago to understand,
Our founding fathers of this land, the constitution that was planned.
Now almost three centuries have passed, upon this warning so cast.
Three hundred million, we have amassed, growing larger so very fast.
When our trust is so foiled, cleanliness spoiled, as the media allows,
Uncensored, biased, racially divisive, day in, day out, then disavows.
May our country weather storms so plaguing us now, to still survive,
How might our innocent children, the little ones, to grow and thrive?
Where bigotry reigns, greedy flourish, this a place where we all may perish,
Each day we ignore, this to permit, every hope, all to forfeit, that we cherish.
We are charged, have responsibilities, on us to count, not inherit our liabilities,
Making amends, on this our world, defends, rid the corrupt, of our capabilities.
The words to hurt, to sting and to defile, all to be removed, for they're so vile,
Language so called, lacking a better name. exposing the meek, all the while.
A gentler season, now due to this land, one our own saviour lovingly planned,
Together, this world to span, as each mother's child is loved, we'll understand.
