We Don't See Straight
Squint And Look Again
Everytime I look I see a different picture
Like a camera with endless memory
I can learn to appreciate and value
All things that are not mine to keep
I enjoy life a little more
Knowing it will not last
Things that make me feel special
Will disappear and forever change
Welcoming new joys to fill my day
The old will be forgotten
Maybe it's time
To find good in the rotten
Not so quickly disguard that faded mirrror that worked so well
To see new in something old
Even if it is not quite up to par
To find something broken and understand it once worked so well
It served it's purpose
Understanding if it was the only one in the world
Would we still throw it away or would the broken now do
Finding a way to accept things as they are
Enjoying what I have, what I will miss and what is and always will be
A life of hidden beauty
