Alone and Calm
Firm On The Ground
Sometimes we are so still
And no different than trees
Our each pore thinks hard
The mind touches things
Our body seeks nothing
And the heart reaches far
Firm on our legs we stand
With elan, do face all storms
And we don't want to wander
Love to hold harder and firm
Like to mingle with the rains
And drink all darkness deep
The autumn sucks us hard
And draws the sky asunder
We take on the cruel world
And grow the roots deeper
We trudge in sheer silence
Sometimes we are chucked
Sometimes we are hugged
We learn to walk in solitude
We speak without the tongue
And stretch hands not to grab
Don't move when axed hard
How we stand alone and calm
