Just like that one memorable sunset over the ocean when everything stops in that magic moment of total perfection on your planned holiday...
you just noticed, walking by on your last day before your departure, back home to your ordinary life and you say to yourself: 'I am so happy to experience this, I have dreamt about it all my life...AND HERE I AM.'
you just noticed, walking by on your last day before your departure, back home to your ordinary life and you say to yourself: 'I am so happy to experience this, I have dreamt about it all my life...AND HERE I AM.'

Life is often a painful mix of love, loss and damage

true realization comes

Nothing is perfect

and everything is perfect.

Nothing is less worthy

than something else,

he wanted her

to teach him to write,

the sudden online crash,

he taught her how to dance,

the source of its potent charm,

is the possibility of everlasting

online friendship

ever possible?

The online magic of connecting

with so many people

from all around the world

so extremely enriching

and stimulating.

Lounging in a beautiful home

filled with photos and paintings

her boys rolling their eyes

and later retaliate

by mocking their mother

for her downtime pleasure.

Staying rooted in her professional life

and family

as part of her effort

to keep a healthy distance

from those romantic traps of online dreamings

but is it possible?

The ability to judge

is vital

to their wellbeing

and yet

all too often

they set up for a struggle

with themselves,

their feelings

and their unreal reality.

The waiting game

the doomsday at a glance

what life will look like

after the final click of the 'send'.

After few weeks

angling for that special connection,

now they have it

and suddenly not sure

what to do with it,

which one of them

is more afraid

of loosing it?

A messy excercise

in an imaginative dialogue

of two souls

from the opposite sides of the world

that never seen each other in a flesh,

it is so unreal

and yet the only reality they know,

the one

that produced

this magical feelings

between them

which in itself

is not prone

to sudden change,

for how long can they keep it?

The interlocked sentences

between them

so established

and precious.

He said: "I can extend things,

change the colour and texture,

I like to flirt."

They found tiny songs,

old photos and new images,

to tell them who they are,

like little twinkles in their eyes

to brighten their real worlds

suddenly so grey...

"The religion of this connection

is love,

to love another person

is to see the face of God,"

he said to her.

She feels

burning

with the same energy

the martyrs

burned well,

but doesn't say it.

Without him,

it wouldn't have occured to her

to ask for a little more from life.

She keeps

constantly

handing out

her own version of truth

about women's lives.

A noble and inspiring

the man

choosen

to carry her troubles

with him,

doing the small things,

doing the big things,

he never looses his graceful touch

for putting her at ease.

Only much later

she realizes

it also must have placed

an unimaginable burden

on him.

One small step for a woman

towards love,

one giant leap of hope,

her memory of it

is so strong

down to the scent

of the rose

in the air,

and she knows

mankind become a little bit more better

that day

a little bigger and bolder

and a little bit more self-aware.

That one little online footprint

so tiny against the backdrop

of the overcrowded

online conversations

offers this solace

that you can find a true person

in this selfish age,

obsessed

with various versions

and perfect projections

of ourselves.

He dreams,

she dreams

her hands are interlocked,

when she wakes up,

his hand is not there,

it is just her imagination,

the trap of the unreal reality

of their online world,

and yet

she has to tell

this online story

from the point of view

the God exists.

And what God means

in practice

is the act of compassion,

of love,

of struggle of sharing your life

in the way

no one really believes

is possible.....

This poem left me daydreaming. Somewhere floating in between your words and my own imagination. My favorite kind of poetry. It's not all played out, giving me reason to question, reason to wonder. Fantastic!

Thank you, my fellow hubber, you are right, it is a wonderful world full of beautiful, diverse people and wonderful opportunities, once has to learn to walk cautiously with open eyes and mind to be aware that dangers may be lurking somewhere in the dark corners but it is still worthy to explore it in its depth...

Beautiful thoughts expressed in the form of a poem. It is not easy to compose a poem on a topic like online world. And you have done this so beautifully, with lovely pictures.

My experience with online world has so far been enjoyable and enriching, and I hope it continues like that. Had this not been like that, I would not be communicating with a wonderful hubber friend like you, thousand of miles away in W. Australia.

      Thanks for sharing the hub!

This makes them as envious as anything!

A lot of her acquantances and many of mine, still sit on the sideline, waiting, hehe, would not be surprised if someone of them are secretly running bets on us!

      Those tentative moments,

First observing her subtle sense of humour,

Her polite handling of online bantering

      In the open general chatroom,

A lull in the fast flowing stream of constant nattering

      Keyboard to keyboard

      Across the screen.

      Those first contact lines

      The communication lines

      Opened!

      Moved across to Private

      Away from the maddening crowd,

Those aged pickup and comealong phrases!

      We talk and exchange views,

      Soon it is "Pumpkin time"

      Cinderella must leave the party.

      Not leaving her slipper

But a promise to be there

      At time and cyberspace.

      Thus it began,

      A daily routine

      General chatting, exchanges of thoughts

A Secret Sharer comes to mind

      Subliminal messages sent

If you read between the lines

      Pictures formed images exchanged

      Over those network lines

      This is the begining

      Some many weeks later

We met, our friendship an love daily grew

We were wedded and celebrated our Anniversaries

Despite those "Soothsayers sage prophecies of impending doom!"

      The shocked and horrified expressions

When people here our meeting place

      -----------------

thank you, my dear fellow hubbers, it is something I hear a lot about lately and read so much negative experience that I felt the need to counter balance it:) Your responses are very thoughtful and shows lots of experience and wisdom, they show both sides of the coin, but like everything else it has both sides...something to learn from, Bob, positive outlook Petra and very true, it is okey to dream your dreams, if they do not hurt anyone, which is usually not so easy:) Cleverly and beautiful wrapped up, vveasly, and very very true:)

      Online experience is somewhat like

and can be a waking fantasy...a dream like

      experience

      Were you can be anything

Or anyone you want to be

      This can be freeing

      Exhilarating

      Intoxicating

      When you become intoxicated

      Your experience of yourself

      And others

      becomes altered

      What we call love

      Sometimes is

      And

      Often is

      Emotional

      Intoxication

I heard of good experiences and not so good ones as well, but that happens not only on the cyber-world, but in life in general. Connections of mind and soul are never easy, but protected by anonymity, people may feel less intimidated to open up and "dream their dreams". As long as it is not detrimental to others, I see nothing wrong with it

My goodness, B., such a thoughful and well worked poem.

I had an empassioned online relationship with an old love last year...the reunion was a disaster which i am still recovering from, (emotionally and financially).

One needs tremendous care and a lotta luck I think.
