Weaved from the waves

Dream Weaver

Dream Weaver

When people ask me who I am like

I throw my hands up in the air

Because few understand

I am a dream weaver…

Weaved from the waves of women washed upon golden shores

Where night meets day

Where endless thoughts

Get between my toes

Stick to the bottom of my feet

Fall from my damp towel

When I am all alone on some dark street

I am a dream weaver

My mother’s smile

My dad’s steel blue eyes

Eyes that look at me and remember his mother

I am a dream weaver

Forested believer

Weaved from many trees

Branching over meadows and mountains

Marble and moss

I am a dream weaver

When I am lost

When I find my holiest of ghosts

Sneaking upon me

Wearing me down

Making me listen when no one is around

Except for the souls who flow through my leaves

Washing upon me like swamp monsters pretending to be seaweed

I am a dream weaver

I know better

I know the difference

From sun up to dusk

Day dreams to night screams

Night time eternities I can hear

But dare not speak

I am a dream weaver

My hands do not rest

Until the tips of my fingers eventually go to sleep

Forever awake

Forever aware

Of nothing and everywhere

And all that is not there

A burden

A buried chest buried deeply in the burnt sand

Glittering for all to see

And not see

Because after all

I am a dream weaver

Washed inland from the sea

Of dreams, hopes and deepest of despairs

A shard, a shell

A shark’s tooth

Piece of coral

Quartz

Starfish

Sand dollar

Castle falling down

Bucket

Shovel

Paler shade of pale

Yeah! I am a dream weaver

Like all the dream weavers who

Dreamed before me

I weave and weave…dream and dream

Determined that if I weave enough dreams

One day

One dream

Will become true for me

      John,

      May your dreams come true as well.

      Suzette,

      It is so nice to hear you say such nice things, but girlfriend I am nowhere close to being in your league.

      Blessings to you both,

      Kim

      What a powerful and beautiful poem. You have certainly captured the essence of a 'dream weaver.' I found this poem fascinating and was carried away within your images and imagination. Well done and so well written. Your poetry has a depth that mine does not.

      Gosh! Thank You!

      Colin,

      Obviously, I am a little "mad" when you look at how crazy that which I write turns out, and I am glad to take you there day or night. Sending hugs to you from my dogs, Bill and Jinga and my cat, Cosmo and one great big one from me.

      Valleypoet,

      It takes a dream weaver to know one. Big Smiles.

      Well Kim you can tell by the way I write, lol, that I am a dream weaver, lol, and boy oh boy do I ever have some crazy surrealistic dreams when

      I am deep sleeping (which is REM sleep).

      Good afternoon and hello from Colin and Little Miss Tiffy and Mister Gabriel from lake erie time ontario canada 12:22pm with first cup of coffee after night shift sleep and your ethereal words just took me away to another place far beyond any clouds visible to our naked eye and that's what a great writer and poet always does - to paint beautiful images with words through one's magic brush/pen.

      So thank you for taking me 'there' and I will madly and gladly link and share your masterwork on my FB wall for all to see and read - sending 3 big hugs to you from Colin and his cat crew

      Kim these lines touched me deeply:

      Forever awake

      Forever aware

      Of nothing and everywhere

      And all that is not there

      A burden

      A buried chest buried deeply in the burnt sand

      Glittering for all to see

      And not see

      Because after all

      I am a dream weaver.

      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
      With such poise you have weaved your words possessing within them is a pain of the need to be sought for a revelation to be found, for someone to weave a little dream for the dream weaver as well.
      Beautiful poetry. I do not read poetry often. It's very personal. This poem is quite nice.
      I dearly love that last photo of the lady in blue with the stars, but I would suggest following the legal photo use guide in HubPages Help. It is not legal to use "google images" as a source. You must use the true source with permission from the artist.
      Thanks for posting this.
      Kim,
      This might just be my favorite of yours. I was anxious reading it. How refreshing, how honest. This is so beautiful and such wonderful descriptive emotions. I can imagine you've converted some non-dreamers over to the dream-weaving lifestyle. I am a dream weaver too and it is one of those things that some just don't understand and attempt to knock into reality. Well, thank you for reassuring me that dream weaving is beautiful! Awesome... hit all the buttons but funny... oh and I'm so glad you used the video!
      Sharing too!
      Hugs, dream weaving dear!
