What A Great Time At Work

Updated on March 13, 2017

Unexpected And Enjoyed So Much

Off to my chosen profession

Doing my regular ritual

I had know way of knowing

What was about to happen next

A smooth beginning and sensational ending

Where everyone worked

Not one person pulling the weight of many

With the weather turning in the wrong direction

To a windy and sharp cold

That cuts through you like a jagged knife

Work was a welcoming place

Meeting people who all get along

We have a history

We have the same crew for months now

Feeling at ease

The job will be done

More importantly done right

The managers on duty

Happen to be both likable and helpful

The whole eight hours of work

Seemed like a night out with friends

No stress

Each one of us doing our jobs

I know in the past I have talked about so many high expectations

Then within minutes not even hours

My bubble quickly bursts

It was something out of a script

Where each actor or actress performed their part flawless

No complaints

Better yet not body giving anyone else a hard time

This is the close as it comes

To clockwork

I won't even expect this again

Because I was so satisfied with just one good shift

Small conversations about the day

Took place like eating little minI m&m's

We all know they aren't the big ones

We love them just the same

A little taste of goodness

So as I get ready to go home

I stop and pause

Taking a deep breath and savoring the feeling for one last time

I am not sure why work went so well

I don't see anything that would stand out as a factor

As I said good bye to the manager

I think he had a pleasant time at work

Now I have planted the seed in my head

Looking forward to my future

With only twenty years left

Until I retire

I will not only have fun

I will with great confidece reassure myself that I made the right decision

Picking a job I liked doing

Doing it the best I can

Enjoying it with my coworkers

So we are not pulling each other's hair out or at each other's throats

I feel the vibes

Working with over twenty people at different times

It's nice to see

Work can be combined with pleasure

Earning a good living and having many years of good memories to reflect on

Making those tired days

A little bit sweeter and those great days even more amazing

Hey Dream On, once I had a dream job like that and then a corporate raider bought the company and destroyed it.

      Blessings my friend

manatita44 We spend so much time in work it is a shame not to find ways to have fun and still get our job done. If we all work together our job becomes easier and we can get through the busiest times and deal with any situations that arise. Thank you for your encouraging words and for sharing. John Hansen I can remember so many times things have gone haywire and all I wanted to do is get to the end of the day. It is so nice to feel refreshed and back to the good that makes everything worthwhile. Thank you for reading and sharing. We have to take the bad with the good hopefully will always have much more good than bad.

Dream On, what a great work shift that must have been. Sometimes everything just seems to fall into place like clockwork, and then at other times one thing after another goes wrong. I hope all your future days at work go as well as that one you wrote about.
