What are you? - a poem
Banana Soliloquy
What are you?
Your color is yellow
My daughter loves to eat you
What are you?
She needs to supply
The missing words
But finds it hard to do
I told her you eat it daily
Yet her mind is a melee
And scratch her head in perplexity
Oh, banana, banana
She forgot the name
In her native tongue
Thus, she receives a reprimand
I find it hilarious in the long run,
And make an ode, woe be gone …
This thought pops up to me when I introduce her the word "saging" in our dialect. I find it funny that she finds it hard to answer in which it is her favorite food.
