When I'm Gone
When I'm Gone
Taking inspiration from the song by Anna Kendrick, "Cups" I wanted to see the rest of the story and explore the possibility that escape, be it from heartbreak or something else, could be a positive joyous new beginning, rather than a sad and desperate last option.
I got on board
To get out of here
I don't even know where to
I got a ticket and a I got a minute
But I sure don't have any time for you
When I'm gone, when I'm gone
You're gonna miss me when I'm gone
You're gonna miss
The flowers in my hair
You're gonna miss
The ocean in my stare
Oh, you're gonna miss me
When I'm gone
Don't care, I'm gonna risk it
Cos I've never been so sure
Got an empty suitcase to start new
Just some whiskey and no plans or pictures
Cos I left all my memories there with you
When I'm gone, when I'm gone
You're gonna miss me when I'm gone
You're gonna miss
The thrill of my laugh
You're gonna miss
My heart you tore apart
Oh, you're gonna miss me
When I'm gone
I turn my back
A smile on my lips
As I settle in for the ride
I got hopes and I got a dreams
And I'm bursting at the seams oh
I can't wait to start again without you
