When The Day Is Not Really Over

Here it is another day because the time says 3:14

That's A.M.

But the clocks don't tell you that

They just think you should know

Well I am still up and for me I haven't gone to bed yet

So technically I am still on the same day

When I go to bed and then get up a new day starts all over again

I did so many things today and I wanted to do so many more

I met a new friend and we clicked

We had fun shared some laughs

The time flew by

The hours passed and we were just talking

When you meet someone new everything is different

Your views on the world change just a bit

In the past your old friends have their ways

You know how they will act in every situation and every answer they will give

When you find someone new or if they found you

There is a common bond

If it is a friend from work you can talk about your job for hours and all the things you have done

They can tell you other jobs they have had right from day one

If it is someone in school in the same class

You once again have common knowledge and maybe you have questions about what you are learning together

If it is a friend of a friend then it could be any number of interests

From family life to sharing wife stories or just the way you grew up

Maybe it is all about your kids or grandchildren

You and I both know they are always first things on our minds all the time

If you are younger maybe it is a familiar sports or a video game you have both played

Maybe it is a new business partner that seems like the right fit

You can exchange ideas and not feel threatened

As you listen you learn something new

A different way of doing things that maybe saves time and money

Suddenly you have new goals and your dreams become more clear

You see life through their eyes and are not quick to judge

They may not agree on every thing but that is have the fun

A balance that tips back and forth

You respect each others life and they are also busy like you with endless obligations and things to do

Some how ,some way you find it in both your best interests to talk again

This time building a friendship that will be rock solid

A foundation that is strong and can last forever if you both take the time to do it right

Nothing is instant so you can't just add water and hope for the best

You have to practice and share your values and utmost desires to succeed

If that partner is right for you

You both will know it

When words come out faster than you can type them

That is a sign

Who cares that you horiscope says otherwise

You can set out to show the world it was not true

Both of you work together independently and together

Feeding off each others answers as if they were your own

You share a few inside jokes and sometimes you see your weaknesses you have never seen before

As time goes on it is like flowers in a field that grow

There are all different types sometimes daisy's and lillies and wild flowers too

When you look at them they are so beautiful and different

Each one complementing the other

As if they were made to be there

So if your smart you will take a few and leave a few

Put some in a vase and keep them watered for awhile until they wilt

They are like many people you see day to day

Then their are others that are so special you don't touch

You visit often and watch them grow big and strong

They will bloom all summer long and make life happier than before

So if your like me I keep my day going burning the midnight oil

Then when I am exhausted I go to bed

Then I dream of everything new because we all have the gift of a fresh start
