When Zombies Attack!! Part 1
What we didn't know.
It all started on the first day of school. I was coming back from lunch when out of the corner of my eye I saw a girl running out of the woods near our green-house building. As she was getting closer I saw how her long blond hair was streaked with white. Her black dress shirt was ripped in three or four different places as if she had just been in a fight, even though there was no one behind her. She fell into my arms and with a barely audible whisper said, "We need to tell everyone.." and she was gone. Right there in my arms she died. I started screaming for help, and before long some students and teachers came to my aid. The school police officer came and took the girl out of my arms and with the help of another teacher took her someplace inside of the school. I just stood there silent and shaking as the small crowd that had gathered around me was exploding with questions. After a few more moments I turned to my best friend Shane who had rushed outside after word had started spreading of what had happened in the parking lot and said, "I need a ride home". Before we could even start the engine the officer had reached the car door and opened it saying, "I need you to come inside and tell me what happened". After I had finished telling him what had transpired, he gave me his card and told me he would be in touch. By the time we finished up my parents had arrived to take me home.
That night as I was sitting at home in the living room watching the nightly news, the anchor was finishing up on a story about the sudden rise in the murder rate in the city; and that most of the bodies were turned pale. The more I thought about it the more I knew that it would somehow be up to me to stop the coming apocalypse.
When Monday morning arrived, I was beside myself on what to do. Being not completely sure of what I was supposed to do, I had just decided on letting the day unravel and just taking it as it came. As I went outside to get into my Honda Accord that I had paid for with the money I made as an exotic dancer on the weekends, I was struck down by a vision. I saw myself and three other people fighting what seemed like the whitest creatures ever imagined. There were people screaming and falling to ground, picking up what looked like gold and then running away. As fast as the vision had come it was gone, and I had to pick myself off of the ground as I slowly came to realize I had fallen in dog crap. I quickly went back inside and changed my shirt as I thought about the weird things I had just seen. "Today is gonna be one of those days", I thought to myself as I went back outside to my ride. I had no idea just how right I would be.
Dedicated to my kids.
