Come Sit By Me A While:Where are you my baby ??
Hello one and all and I wish you a wonderful weekend .I must apologise for not having been around to read your wonderful hubs etc. but my days have been family filled.
As many of you know I have 13 grandchildren and I love spending time with them. I think they have kept me young at heart!!
Today I feel so blessed to have a wonderful partner who is my best friend, my soul mate, my all family .
Also loving and caring children and their partners .
However this is not all because last but most definitely not least, all of you, my hubfamily!
I have come to treasure each one of you and those whom I have yet to meet I am sure.
Bring your teas, coffees and biscuits with you !!!
Now then are we all settled ??Right I shall begin and I hope you enjoy!!!
As many of you know we were adopted a couple of months ago by mother cat Tabatha and her baby kitten Megan.
They were found abandoned in a hedge around 30 mles away from where we live here in Wales.
Poor Tabatha had five kittens but it was only Megan who was still alive.
I cannot write here what I would like to do to the people who abandoned them.
Disgusting vile scum !!!
They were both taken in by a lady who runs a cat rescue haven not too far from here. Someone happened to give us her phone number and she was delighted when we said we were looking for two kittens or cats ;because she was desperately looking for a home where they could both stay together .Tabatha (Tabs) was around a year old and Megan ( Meg) was around eight weeks old at the time; this would be around three months ago.
Now then where do I begin to try and convey what they have given us.
They have filled a gap in our home and also think they are dogs at times when they bring us the post and when we cannot find small items such as my reading glasses etc. the first place we look is in their bed.
Tabatha loves to be cuddles but Megan will only come and sit on my lap when she wants to and will not allow us to pick her up at all. However if she never changes from how she is now we are not in the least bothered we love them both just as they are.
However in the three times they have been taken to the vet she snuggles right into my neck and as far under my hair as she can.
They have both been going to have their vaccinations ;then yesterday they were both micro chipped and little Megan was spayed.
The vet says that Megan snuggles up to me is a sign that she trusts me 100%.Awww bless her!!!
How many of you have had that strong feeling that some things were meant to be?
I certainly have and by today have learnt how to listen to my inner being.
Both cats hide whenever visitors come to the house but when we went to see them that very first time Tabatha rushed up to us purring as we cuddled her.
They are so cherished by us both and by today have filled a gap in my heart bless them ; I think the fact that they had a bad beginning in life makes my love for them go deeper too.
Oh yes I know 100% that they were meant to come into our home and to win over our hearts as they have done.
Now then yesterday as I said both cats had to be micro chipped and also little Megan had to stay behind to be spayed .As soon as we arrived home Tabatha almost howled running from room to room looking for her baby. I felt so sorry for her but eventfully she settled by me on the settee .
A few hours later we went back to bring Megan home.
Tabatha ran to her sniffing her all over but then started growling and hissing at her !!!!She continued to be like this all through the evening .I was a little apprehensive about them both spending the night together but as Dai said we'd be causing more problems if we separated them both for the whole night too.
I didn't sleep soundly but heard no noise from the kitchen at all.
When I got up at 6 am they both seemed happy but had obviously slept in different spaces. Megan in their bed and Tabatha on one of our kitchen seats.
Again they are always fed from the same dish but again Tabatha would not allow Megan near the dish;so I gave them spereate dishes and they both ate happily. However in the last couple of hours Tabatha does seem to be allowing her baby a little nearer to her as you can see from the photo below.
Dai thinks that she is annoyed because Megan wasn't here when she was looking for her yesterday or maybe because there was a different smell from Megan when she returned yesterday evening.
I would love to hear if any of you have had the same experience with your cats.
Well when I began this hub earlier I wasn't sure whether I was going to compose a poem or not but as my fingers found their way over the keyboard it has worked out as a chat with you all my wonderful friends.
Now then next week is half term holidays for our school children so no work for me and Dai has decided to take the week off so we can spend some more time together and so we will be busy exploring with cameras and notebook/pen in tow.
Therefore my time with you all on here will be limited but I am sure I will be laden down with photos and writing material for the following week.
I wish you all a wonderful weekend and I send lots of love from our little corner of Wales from Dai, Eddy, Tabatha and Megan.
