Whispering: A Poem

Updated on January 1, 2013

I love trees. I love nature in general. It seems that every once in a while, no matter what kind of writing I'm doing at the time, trees come into play. That is definitely the case once again with this poem. Simple and short, tell me if it properly captures the sound of whispering trees.

Windy, Whispering Tree
Windy, Whispering Tree

Whispering

Whispering,
back to the trees
does nothing.

They can't hear
you or me.

We try to see
everything
in our own imagery.

How conceited
are we

to think
the low tones
of a breeze's
song
is part of
our mimicry.
