White Fox (from Serpentine Tongue by Maryanne D. Brown Campbell)
White Fox (Featured poem from Serpentine Tongue by Maryanne D. Brown Campbell, page 166)
White Fox
Fox of winter,
Your path amongst the white blankets infinite in dimension
I follow your paw prints
Hear your cries
Smell the blood you shed
Amongst the frozen air
See the deceased animal
You killed
And you are not yet full, still hungry
Camouflaged guise
Eye and eye among the snow
Reflection of your fur
And are you empty
Without a soul
Running on
For
Survival…
